Immagini suggestive ed emozionanti che diverranno un libro, un vero racconto di viaggio che, patrocinato dal Consolato della Namibia in Italia, vuole trasmettere al grande pubblico la magia di questo meraviglioso luogo nel cuore dell’Africa.

A charming Country, with breathtaking glimpses and light contrasts, told through the camera lens of the photographer Maurizio Marcato. Suggestive and exciting images that will become a book, a trip story that, supported by the Consulate of Namibia in Italy, aims to communicate to the audience the magic of this wonderful place,

Cheyco Leidmann è conosciuto per la forza delle sue immagini, per l’esuberanza e per la qualità del suo lavoro. Le sue fotografie mostrano i misteri che ci circondano rendendo pubblici gli eccessi e le contraddizioni del mondo.

Negli anni ‘80, grazie alla pubblicazione “Foxy Lady”, divenuta poi libro di culto, l’opera di Leidmann diventa immediatamente riconoscibile per un nuovo stile fotografico all’avanguardia.

I colori surreali, la provocazione e l’impudenza diventano la sua firma.

A “Foxy Lady” seguono sette volumi monografici.

Oggi il suo lavoro colpisce ancora l’osservatore, anche se Cheyco Leidmann ci appare diverso da come lo conoscevamo: le sue immagini hanno sostituito una certa ironia iniziale con un senso di “suspense inquietante”.

La sua nuova pubblicazione TOXYTT esplora il contesto sociale. Attraverso immagini costruite, l’autore affronta il tema della pazzia, della violenza, dell’oscenità, della rabbia, del sesso e della furia in tutti i loro aspetti, dal reale al surreale. Immagini che appaiono talvolta “sublimi”, ma sempre conturbanti.

Il suo lavoro ha vinto numerosi premi, tra cui il New York Creative Directors Club Gold Award.

Cheyco Leidmann vive e lavora tra Parigi e gli Stati Uniti ed è aiutato, nel suo lavoro, dalla sua collaboratrice creativa Ypsitylla von Nazareth.

Cheyco Leidmann’s trademark name as a visual artist, stands for the strength and power of the images and the quality and vigour of his work. Leidmann’s work revels in excess and contradiction; it explores the mysteries that surround him.

In the 1980s, with the publication of his worldwide cult bestseller, *Foxy Lady,* Leidmann established an immediately recognizable new visual style of cutting edge expressionism.

He marked the universe of photography with his hyper real colours, his impudence, and his provocations.

Seven monographs followed.

Today his work incites the viewer more than ever, but he has replaced his tongue-in-cheek playfulness with the hard edges of anguish and expectancy.

His newest publication *TOXYTT* are primarily staged visuals which explore their social context. Each composition, each image has an urgent appeal: to witness a world of insanity, violence, obsession, rage, sex and fury in all their aspects between fantasy and surrealism. The results are sometimes sublime, always disturbing.

His work has garnered several prestigious awards, amongst them the New York Creative Directors Club Gold Award.

Cheyco Leidmann lives and works between Paris and the USA.

Leidmann is accompanied by his creative collaborator Ypsitylla von Nazareth.
